Slocan Lake Arena Society hosts the 118th Annual May Days Celebration, bringing the community together for a fun event in the outdoors from May 17-18, 2025. Includes kids games, friendly competitions, food and live entertainment.
The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Columbia Brewery, will host the 12th Annual Dash 4 Trash in the Creston Valley on June 7, 2025. The entire valley is invited to collect litter and then celebrate with a free BBQ in Creston.
Wildsight Invermere will host the 12th annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival on November 15th, 2025.
This project will support Ktunaxa Nation Elders to attend a gathering of Elders from across British Columbia.
The Sparwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Business Excellence Awards on October 22, 2025 . The eleven awards are a celebration of the people and businesses that make the community of Sparwood thrive.
Aqanttanam Housing Society will redevelop the Claydon Villa site, in particular redeveloping 12 units, and adding 6 new units, for a total of up to 18 affordable rental housing units in Cranbrook.
The West Creston Community Hall Society will host their annual Corn Cricker’s Picnic featuring corn husking, rolling pin toss, horseshoes, children races, and more, on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Protecting Animal Life Society (PALS) will host the annual Creative Hands Craft Fair in Nakusp on November 29, 2025.
The Inonoaklin Recreation Commission will host a Halloween Dance followed by fireworks for the community of Edgewood on October 31st, 2025.
The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Elkford Business Awards to celebrate and recognize local businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations on October 18, 2025.
The Fernie Chamber of Commerce will host it’s annual Business Excellence Awards on October 16, 2025.
The Kimberley Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Business Awards on October 24th, 2025.
The Kimberley Community Fall Fair is an annual community event held on Sept 27-28, 2025. The event brings together local vendors, artisans and farmers. It is hosted by 5 separate non-profit groups that work together to put on the event. Any money raised goes directly back to the organizations organizing the event.
The Trust is sponsoring the 2025 Ktunaxa Nation Charity Golf Tournament at the St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino. Proceeds will go towards the Traditional Knowledge and Language Sector’s language and knowledge programs.
The Kootenay South Metis Society will host a community event at Gyro Park in Trail on June 22, 2025, to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. The event includes a local story teller, fry bread, and live drummers and dancers.
The Creston Valley Rod & Gun Club Pike Minnow Derby is a fun, family-friendly event aimed at raising awareness and helping restore Kokanee smelt populations by managing Pike Minnow numbers. The derby will take place June 13 to 15, 2025.
The Rossland Historical Museum and Archives Association, in partnership with the IncrEdible Farmers Markets, will host a free, family-friendly Arts & Culture Festival on September 13 & 14, 2025.
Rossland Gold Fever Follies will host their 2025 theatre season throughout July and August at the historic Miner’s Hall, featuring local youth performers and showcasing a script written by a returning cast member.
Columbia Wetlands Outpost will trial a resilient asparagus crop in the Parson area.
Apple Quill Farm will trial a resilient black raspberry crop in the Wycliffe area.
Swan Valley Farms will trial a resilient huckleberry crop in the Wynndel area.
Edible Acres Farm will trial a resilient strawberry crop in the Windermere area.
The cities of Trail and Rossland are teaming up to host the BC Winter Games from February 25-March 1, 2026.
The Trails for Creston Valley Society will host their second annual Bear Fair on April 25, 2026 at Centennial Park. Bear Fair is a free, family-friendly event celebrating bear safety and coexistence in the Creston Valley, including educational booths, children’s activities, live demonstrations, and local food vendors.
The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Elkford Business Awards to celebrate and recognize local businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations on October 24, 2026.
The Fernie Mountain Film Festival Society will host its annual Mountain Film Festival on February 20 and 21, 2026.
Fernie’s annual Griz Days winter celebration will occur from March 6th to March 8th, 2026.
The Silverton Community Club will host its annual Canada Day celebration with a weekend of activities for the entire family to enjoy in Silverton park.
Keefer Ecological Services will hire and oversee a Local Food Funding Liaison to support primary and value-added food producers and food processors to navigate, access and apply for provincial, federal, Columbia Basin Trust, and other funding and support programs.
This project will support Junior Achievement BC to design and deliver leadership and business skills programs for Basin youth aged 12 to 18.
This project will support 30 Under 30, a collaborative initiative between JCI Kootenay and the Trust that recognizes and celebrates 30 exceptional individuals under the age of 30 who are making a positive impact across the Columbia Basin. The initiative aims to elevate young leaders, promote community engagement and celebrate changemakers throughout the region.
Lardeau Valley Community Club will host their Seniors’ Appreciation Dinner to recognize the Seniors’ service to their communities, with guests from the Lardeau Valley and Kaslo on April 27, 2025, in Meadow Creek.
The Glade Recreation Commission is hosting their 32nd Annual Glade Fishing Derby, a family fun community gathering with prizes, food & beverage, and live music on July 25 & 26, 2025.
The Fernie Arts Station is celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary on October 5th, 2025, with a day of connection and creativity. An open house will include free all-ages art activities, information about current programs, live music and food. There will also be an update provided that will share the vision for the future of arts in the region.
The Cranbrook Firefighters Association is hosting the 46th Annual Fishing Clinic at Idlewild Lake on June 15, 2025, to encourage family unity and outdoor recreation in our community.

The Kootenay Film Society will host their annual 7th Siding Festival of Film from November 16-18, 2025, showing short and feature-length films that promote a rural theme.
The 84th Annual Creston Valley Blossom Festival will take place in the Creston Valley from May 16 to 19, 2025. This year’s event will celebrate the “Love of Farming” with parades, amusement rides, children’s games, dances, picnics, a street fair, entertainment, pancake breakfasts, and more.
Kimberley Arts Council is hosting the 9th annual Kimberley Art in the Garden Tour on June 28, 2026. This year’s tour will feature 7 Kimberley gardens, local musicians and visual artists, and an afternoon wrap-up concert, presented in the new pavilion adjacent to Centre 64.
The annual Pumpkin Hunt is a family-friendly event on October 25, 2025, bringing people together to kick off the Fernie Nordic Society’s upcoming Nordic season at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre.
This project will support the Village of Montrose to develop a conceptual design for 9th Avenue Park, incorporating strategies to mitigate climate risks, drainage for heavy rainfall, and drought resistant vegetation to enhance long-term sustainability.
Kaslo and District Senior Citizens Shelter Society will improve livability and encourage gathering and recreation for residents of Abbey Manor in Kaslo.
Abbeyfield St. Paul’s Golden will improve the emergency readiness of 11 existing affordable rental housing units at Abbeyfield House in Golden.
Robson Valley Community Services Society will improve livability and encourage recreation and gathering for residents of Ada’s Place in Valemount.
This project will support the East Kootenay Adaptive Snowsports Society to purchase adaptive equipment and upgrade its storage shed.
akisqnuk First Nation will hold its Annual General Assembly on August 22 – 24, 2025.
akisqnuk First Nation will purchase an EV truck for use by the First Nation.
akisqnuk First Nation will purchase an electric vehicle to support their community operations and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions .
This project supports akisqnuk First Nation to obtain training for its Guardian Program.
The Resident Directed Grants (ReDi) Program is a community-based granting program that incorporates local input in the adjudication process. ReDi is delivered on behalf of the Trust by the Regional Districts of Central Kootenay, East Kootenay and Kootenay Boundary, Town of Golden, City of Revelstoke, Village of Valemount, aqam, akisqnuk, Yaqan Nukiy, Yaqit aknuqi ‘it, and Shuswap Band.
This project will support the Town of Creston to enhance akuni Park by incorporating a stormwater retention pond to address the challenges posed by increasingly heavy rainfall and to enhance biodiversity.
The Trail & District Public Library will host their annual “Amazing & Aging: A Fair for Seniors’ Health & Wellness” on October 1, 2025.
This project will support safety, accessibility and functionality upgrades at the City of Trail’s Andy Bilesky Little League facility.
The annual Mountain Paradise Show and Shine, with 250 entries of vintage vehicles, will be celebrated on June 7, 2025 in Revelstoke.
The Castle Wood Village will host a fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. with a pledged walk, a BBQ by donation, craft & bake sale, silent auction and live music in Castlegar on September 20, 2025.
Appledale Children’s Centre will replace windows and hot water heaters, seal foundation cracks and other exterior penetrations, grade surrounding terrain and review the existing insulation condition to determine if remediation or replacement are required.
The Appledale Progressive Association will a create wildfire resiliency demonstration garden to promote community education in the Slocan Valley.
This project will support aqam Community Enterprises to host a Trail Tourism Workshop from February 9 to 11, 2026.

The Argenta Safety and Preparedness Society will build capacity in emergency response communication by developing and delivering training to communication coordinators and community volunteers in Argenta and the surrounding areas.

The Argenta Community Association will host its annual Argenta Yuletide Market on November 29, 2025, featuring local vendors, local food, crafts, and music.
This project will support the construction of an addition at the Arrow Lakes Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop.
Arrow Lakes Search and Rescue will acquire avalanche airbags and upgrade the communication technology in their command vehicle to improve operational efficiency and service to Nakusp and the surrounding area.
Arrow Slocan Lake Community Services Society will purchase an 8-passenger hybrid van to increase service delivery throughout the Arrow and Slocan Lakes area.
On May 21, 2026, Columbia Valley Arts Council will host the 20th anniversary of Art From the Heart, a project designed to bring children and youth together to celebrate the Arts.
The West Creston Community Hall Society will host their 2nd annual “Baked Potato Evening” on November 5, 2025, offering residents the opportunity to connect with others in the community and enjoy a baked potato-themed meal.
The Balfour Recreation Commission (in partnership with the West Kootenay Family Wellness Society) will create 24 new childcare spaces in Balfour.
The Balfour Recreation Commission will host Balfour Daze, a family-oriented community celebration featuring local musicians, artists, crafters, food vendors and local non-profits on July 5, 2025.
The Balfour Recreation Commission will enhance accessibility in recreational spaces at the Balfour Community Park for children with diverse abilities.
Balfour Senior Citizens Association Branch #120 will add blown-in cellulose insulation in the attic of their Seniors Hall to increase energy efficiency.
The Basin Business Advisors program will provide advisory support to Basin businesses.
This project will support the enhancement of recreational amenities located in the Basin by hiring, organizing, and training Basin youth and young adults as sites and trails crew workers.
This project will support the expansion of the British Columbia Association of Farmers’ Markets Nutrition Coupon Program in the Basin to provide coupons to seniors living in affordable housing operated by non-profits and licensed childcare providers that offer ten or more spaces, provide food as part of programming and will use the coupons for meals or snacks for children attending the childcare providers’ space.
The West Kootenay Regional Arts Council will administer and deliver the Basin Festival Grants Program which supports Basin residents in having opportunities to access and enjoy arts and culture festivals in the Columbia Basin.

Cranbrook Community Forest Society will create job experience and skills development opportunities for five Basin residents while enhancing Basin recreational trails.
Fernie Trails Alliance will create job experience and skills development opportunities for five Basin residents while enhancing Basin recreational trails.
Golden Cycling Club will create job experience and skills development opportunities for two Basin residents while enhancing Basin recreational trails.

This project will support offering registration discounts to attract up to 150 Basin residents to attend a three-day British Columbia Active Transportation Summit conference in Kimberley in September 2025.
Wildsight Golden will be hosting a third annual Bear Festival on September 21, 2025, in order to help educate the public around bear safety and awareness in the community.
Beaver Valley Child Care Society will install exterior window awnings and a shade sail in the back play area at Beaver Valley Child Care to increase climate resiliency.
Beaver Valley Manor Society will improve the livability and quality of existing affordable rental housing units for seniors at Beaver Valley Manor in Fruitvale.
The 115th annual Beaver Valley May Days celebration will take place May 23-25 in Fruitvale, and feature a kids zone, live music and entertainment, local artists and vendors, food trucks and more.
The Beaver Valley Public Library will undertake planning and design, purchase digital tools and install automatic doors and new flooring.
The Beaver Valley Youth Action Network will support youth priorities, local activities and diverse opportunities for youth aged 12-18 years in the Village of Fruitvale, Village of Montrose, and RDKB Area A.

Bluebell Manor Society will improve the livability and quality of existing affordable rental housing units for seniors at Bluebell Manor in Riondel.
The Pass Creek Neighbourhood Association will host Bring in Spring, their annual family event that includes kids activities, a garage sale, the local fire crew and truck, music and a community barbeque on May 26, 2025.
This project supports the Brisco Recreation Commission in completing energy efficiency upgrades at the Brisco community hall.
KAST (Kootenay Association for Science & Technology) is hosting BroadKAST, an interactive event to celebrate the innovation of the Basin’s entrepreneurial community by showcasing short films about local science and technology entrepreneurs who will be available for questions and answers in Nelson on September 18, 2025.
Ducks Unlimited Canada will restore wetlands to improve habitat quality and connectivity on the Bummers Flats Conservation Property.
This project will support professional park planning, cost estimation, and conceptual design services for the Burton Community Park Project.

The 2026 Annual Cabin Fever Daze will be held in Wardner on February 28th, 2026. The event will include a pancake breakfast along with games, a multi-team snow baseball tournament at Wardner Park, followed by a chili and bun to end the event back at the hall.
Camp Busk Society will install LED lighting, upgraded windows and improve building envelope airtightness at the Scouts Hall to increase energy efficiency.

The Casino Recreation Society will implement fuel management on 4 hectares of community land to create a demonstration site to promote community education.

This project will support the delivery of the Trust’s wildfire programs and provide expert guidance and support to help communities in the Columbia Basin Trust’s region improve wildfire resiliency.
Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) will expand their current programming to provide access to a range of services for seniors within the Columbia Basin Trust Region.
This project will support safety and accessibility improvements to portions of Rossland’s Centennial Trail, which will serve as an inter-community active transportation link connecting the City’s downtown to outlying recreation assets.
Fauquier CARE Society will host a community wide BBQ at the Fauquier Pavilion to celebrate the second year of the Society on May 24th, 2025.
Cheesemas is an annual community event hosted at the Cirque restaurant at Fernie Alpine Resort with the goal of bringing people together in celebration of the Emily Brydon Fernie Foundation, its successes and in order to create awareness about what they do. The event takes place December 6, 2025, and is free to attend with wine tasting and raclette to enjoy.
The Fauquier Community Club will host a free Christmas dinner at the Fauquier Hall for the whole community on November 30, 2025.
On December 19, 2025, the Salmo District Arts Council and Salmo Chamber of Commerce will host a downtown street party featuring local vendors, live music, and festive activities like lantern making and snow sculptures.
The City of Cranbrook will implement prescribed burns in two municipal areas, including 60 hectares at the Canadian Rockies International Airport and 8 hectares southeast of Gold Creek Subdivision, to build internal capacity and promote community education.
The City of Cranbrook will improve an exterior ramp at the Cranbrook Public Library.
The City of Kimberley will implement a prescribed burn on 11 hectares of municipal land along Highway 95A to build internal capacity and promote community education.
The City of Kimberley will enhance accessibility at the Kimberley Nature Park and Lois Creek Trail Network for children with diverse abilities by upgrading trails with firm, level surfaces and adding accessible features including tactile signage, interactive play equipment and resting areas.
The City of Nelson will implement fuel management on 13 sites, totaling 6.32 hectares on municipal land to create demonstration sites to promote community education.
The City of Nelson will strengthen emergency management and public safety during natural disasters by conducting climate-related emergency modelling of their water distribution system to identify gaps and improve decision making during emergencies.
The City of Revelstoke will enhance accessibility in recreational spaces at Kovach Park for children with diverse abilities.
The City of Rossland will implement fuel management on 10 hectares of municipally owned parkland at Iron Horse Parkland to create a demonstration site to promote community education.
The City of Rossland will strengthen emergency management and public safety during natural disasters by purchasing and installing a weather station and water monitoring equipment to improve decision making during emergencies.
The City of Trail will strengthen emergency management and public safety during natural disasters by purchasing and installing early flood detection equipment.
This project will support the City of Trail to commemorate their 125th anniversary with an augmented reality mural and the creation of digital tours.
The City of Trail will enhance accessibility in recreational spaces at the Trail Aquatic Leisure Centre for children with diverse abilities by purchasing equipment including tot docks, water wheelchairs and a rolling water gurney.
The Chamber of Mines of Eastern BC will host their Annual Spring Banquet and Auction on May 31, 2025 in Nelson.
This is a city-wide, two community trash pick up day hosted on April 26, 2025 (Earth Day). This year’s event will be the fourth year in Kimberley, and third year in Cranbrook.
This project will support the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society to complete building renovations.
College of the Rockies will award bursaries of up to $1,500 to Columbia Basin students attending College of the Rockies based on financial need.
The Trust is supporting outreach, marketing, awareness or related initiatives that position the College of Rockies for success.
This project supports the Columbia Lake Stewardship Society in building organizational capacity.
This project will support the Shuswap Band to develop Phase One of the Columbia River Park, which includes a gathering space for the community.
This project will support community-led public art projects, where the public art is focused on celebrating the community’s connection to the Columbia River system/local watershed, and helping enhance the public’s sense of place.
Columbia Senior Wellness Society will purchase an EV to support the transportation of seniors to social activities and appointments and will partner with other non profits in the Beaver Valley to share expenses and use of the vehicle.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District will pilot an expanded FireSmart Home Assessment and rebate program in Electoral Areas A and B to promote wildfire resiliency for vulnerable populations.
The Trust is providing a contribution to support community development activities in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

Nelson Kootenay Seniors Projects Society will remove a concrete slab and re-level with a new slab, fill void under slab, review and repair retaining wall and guard rails, drain water and review roof slope, and grade the terrain away from their building, Kiwanis Villa 1.
Oasis Recreational Society will replace the failing asphalt shingle roof on their Building to protect the roof structure underneath, install new windows and a hot water heater.
