September 12 – Golden Museum Fall Faire, Golden
The Golden Museum hosts their annual Fall Faire event, a full-day community event with Farmer’s Market showcasing local vendors, a kids’ fun zone put on by a local youth volunteer group, live music from local musicians, a barbecue and ice cream truck, and “best-of” style fair competitions.

September 10 – World Suicide Prevention Day, Cranbrook
The Canadian Mental Health Association for the Kootenays is hosting a community event on Sept 10th, 2026, in recognition of suicide prevention day. This free event will bring the community together and provide access to supports, as well as include family activities, Ktunaxa drummers and prayers, speakers, musical entertainment and a candlelight vigil.

September 10 – Salmon Festival 2026, Invermere
This project supports the 2026 Shuswap Salmon Festival that celebrates and honours the salmon, aims to build public understanding of the cultural and ecological importance of salmon, and aims to strengthen relationships between Indigenous and non- Indigenous communities in the Upper Columbia. September 11 & 12 – Queen City Cruise, Nelson
The Nelson Road Kings will host the Queen City Cruise, bringing in over 400 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles, as well as spectators to Nelson on September 11 and 12, 2026. Event Information.

September 13 – Krestova Slow Food Cycle, Nelson
The Krestova Slow Food Cycle is a free self guided tour on September 13th, 2026, for all community members to visit participating locations by bike, foot or vehicle and sample baked goods, farm stands, a free taco lunch and a bike repair station.

September 13 – Kimberley Pridefest 2026, Kimberley
Kimberley Pridefest 2026 will take place in the Platzl from September 12-13, 2026. It is a free, inclusive family friendly community celebration, featuring a local arts and culture market and live music at the new outdoor stage facility at Centre 64. Event Information.

September 16 to 20 – Elk Valley Pride Festival, Fernie
This an annual celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Fernie, instrumental in fostering inclusivity and connection within the Elk Valley region. Since 2016, the festival has grown into a five-day event held annually in September, offering a variety of activities including a bike parade, flag-raising ceremony, Spectrum Queer Arts Day, workshops, and educational sessions. The festival aims to celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity, and strengthen community bonds within the Elk Valley. Event Information.

September 17 – Gathering on the Land, Cranbrook
The Rocky Mountain Metis Association will host a gathering on the land on September 17, 2026, in Cranbrook, supporting connection between Metis communities in the area.

September 24 to 26 – Massif Music Festival, Nelson
The Massif Music Festival, founded in 2016, is an annual event held in Nelson, British Columbia. The festival is dedicated to showcasing underground and underrepresented music genres, including rock, punk, metal, and alternative, with a strong emphasis on promoting gender diversity within the heavy music scene. Typically occurring on the last weekend of September, Massif features performances from a diverse lineup of artists, fostering connections among musicians and fans alike. 22 of 25 performances will be happening at the Eagle’s Hall in 2026. September 24 to 27 – ʔakisq̓nuk 2026 Multigenerational Fishing Camp, ʔakisq̓nuk
ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation will host a multigenerational fishing camp, from September 24-27, 2026, on Kinbasket Lake.

September 25 to 27 – LUNA Fest, Revelstoke
LUNA Fest, is a three-day celebration of art, culture, and music held annually in Revelstoke. The festival features LUNA Sound, an evening of diverse musical performances across multiple downtown venues; LUNA Arts, an exhibition of interactive art installations and performances transforming the city’s streets and public spaces; and LUNAversity, offering workshops and activities for all ages. September 30 – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Revelstoke
The Indigenous Friendship Society of Revelstoke’s Truth and Reconciliation Day event will be held on September 30th, 2026, in downtown Revelstoke.
